ETF2L First Place Division 4b - Season 6
Site & Team
|
|
|

Yes! We finally did it! After a long, depressing, but rather good season, we ended up first place in our division! We wish we would have been first place of division 3 now.. Since we wanted to be in that division in the first place.. But.. I guess getting Gold of division 4b is alright also, since we've had lots of fun, and actually officially have shown that we're able to be division 3. We've had lots of problems throughout the season. From people not showing up and being late, to people having a 2 week vacation every week, or just where we were all playing shit. But all I can say is: Well played, Internecine. We had some great ETF2L matches, and we had a full good season of Wireplay and ETF2L. We have proven that we're actually a stable 6v6 team now, and not some random players joining a clan, folding within a month. We all like each other, and we love our lineup as it is now.

Anyway, I think it's time to run over the whole season, and what really our problems were and how the matches went. I'll start off with the first match, and finish with our last and best match.
06-10-2009 19:45 Week 1: internecine vs The Good Guys! - Result: 6-0

Our first ETF2L game.. Exciting!.. or not..? We had a good time fighting them, because especially, I think we almost broke the world record of fastest rounds ever.
Granary - 5-0
We did Granary in less then 9 minutes, ending in a nice result of 5-0 to us. The Germans were no match for us at all. We managed to go through the rounds smoothly, and show them off our skills in our first ETF2L match.
Badlands - 5-0
This one went even more smooth than Granary. We 5-0'd them in less then 8 minutes! Their top scorer only had 11 points, and one of them didn't even get any point throughout the whole match! Winning this match in about 17 minutes, was a great achievement.
11-10-2009 21:13 Week 2: Fragmative vs internecine - Result: 3-3

Our second ETF2L game, not quite as expected as we thought it would go. This time, it was against the Bulgarian team Fragmative. We thought we'd win 6-0, but we ran out of luck.
Badlands - 3-2
Probably the worst official we've ever played so far. Bury wasn't there for 80 % of the game, and Hat kept getting disconnections, leaving us to 4 players at a certain moment. We're still proud of ourselves though. We were able to defend last point for a looong time with only 4-5 players, leaving us a result of 3-2 to them.
Fastlane - 1-5
Bury was gone, and we just HAD to get a sub to go on, else it would probably result into another failure. We got Turnerface as scout sub. Fragmative played really well, and it was a good match. We managed to win 5-1 with some deep concentration. We played Fastlane a couple of times as team in PCW's, but I think it wouldn't be enough to win them, but luckily, we made up some tactics at the last moment, and we managed to rise our shoulders, stand tall, and kick their ass!
After all the incidents of that day, we still did pretty decent to think of it. Fragmative is a good team to play against, and I wish them most of luck in the next season, in Division 3!
18-10-2009 21:17 Week 3: delicious! - internecine - Result: 0-6

One of the huge reasons our season was pretty shit, is that so many teams started folding. We had 4 frickin folds in our division! And delicious was one of them.
Badlands - 0-5
Not very much to say about Badlands. We made delicious look not so delicious by winning Badlands 5-0 in less then 12 minutes. They weren't any match for us. We showed our well played Badlands tactics, and won from them.
Freight - 0-5
We played our first official Freight against delicious, and with no surprise, we did another smooth 5-0 against them. We played this one on our UK server, cause Delcious! had some ping problems.
We did a nice win against them, although, a pretty waste of time because they folded. Unlucky us.
26-10-2009 18:22 Week 4: internecine - Experts\' Union - Result: 5-0

Well.. We REALLY wanted to go for the world record fastest win in Team Fortress 2, so we won both maps in almost 14 minutes! But unfortunately, this was also one of the teams that folded in a couple of days after we played the match against them. We played Granary x2, which was pretty boring. But we had some fun with some off-class stuff, and doing some crazy tactics or new tactics we wanted to try out.
Granary - 5-0
First sight on how good they were. Within a couple of minutes, we realised how good they not were. We did a nice steamroll within less then 7 minutes, resulting into a 5-0 for us!
Granary - 5-0
Not much different from the first map, only that it took us 1 minute longer to 5-0 them. Hat had some problems putting up some sentrys while attacking their last points, and fade kept missing sniper shots, but we still managed to win the last point.
The Ukranians were no match for us, and folded a couple of days after.
04-11-2009 20:24 Week 5: internecine - Piggy Bankers Result: 1-4

After a 2 week steamroll, we thought we'd do another against Piggy Bankers. However, we were surprisingly wrong, because we basicly played horrible on that day.
Gravelpit - 1-1
We did our usual tactics on Gravelpit, and it worked out quite decently. But we did some VERY stupid mistakes, and especially at the last point, where they capped in the last 2 seconds, and won the round, because we didn't have uber just in time. It was a shit mistake, but we'd get over it. We didn't expect Piggy Bankers to be quite as good as they are.
Well - 2-4
Well sure was an exciting match, but also a match with a lot of noise, which means: Rage. We were mindlessly walking around, and had almost no clue what we were doing. Looking back at it now, we said it was because of our Ex-Medic Flush, because he played so shit. Now I don't know if this really is true, because I didn't really notice it myself, or that it's just because of mindless rage towards the medic. Who knows? We did a nice comeback on the 2-0 to them, resulting into a 2-2, but then we had too much self-confidence, and got rolled into a 4-2 loss..
We played horrible on that day, but huge respect for Piggy Bankers for playing as a good div 4/3 team, and we wish this Finnish team most of luck in their next Season.
20-11-2009 00:58 Week 6: Impressive - internecine - Result: 0-6

We were damn nervous for this game, because of our shit game against Piggy Bankers. We pretty much lost most of our self-confidence. Between the two weeks, our medic Flush left because he didn't feel comfortable enough within our team, so we got our old and cool Israeli medic Zappah back, to carry us our way to division 3.
Freight - 2-5
Playing Freight again, we got most of our confidence back, because we all enjoy playing the map and are quite good at it. After a nice steamroll on the first round, we'd though we go on with it, and won some good rounds. Impressive managed to push us back though, and did well at it. The end result was 2-5 to us.
Well - 0-5
We did crap on Well against Piggy Bankers, but after winning Freight, we just knew we were going to win this one, and showed them what we're capable off, resulting into a 0-5 win to us.
The Russian team didn't stand a good chance, and we won the week 0-6 to us, feeling more secure about our upcoming matches against Team Delete and the 10 year old Virtual Troopers.
26-11-2009 08:00 Week 7: Team Delete - internecine - Result: 0-6 (Default win)

And again, another clan folding... When we contacted Team Delete to arrange the match, they told us their team wasn't quite working out well, and that they were going to fold. And our Week 8 also automaticly disappeared, because the team Yurop Extrim folded all off the sudden also.
02-12-2009 21:48 Week 9: internecine - Virtual Troopers - Result: 6-0

Our last match, and the best official match we've ever played! This one sure was exciting, because it would decide if we would go to division 3 or not. If we lost this one, we would end 3rd place. If we won, 1st. And if we drew, we would be 2nd. So this one would be decider, and a couple of us were nervous about it!
Badlands - 6-1
Virtual Troopers wanted to have a relay tv of their own, so they set one up. There apparently weren't quite enough slots on our own TV. While refreshing the relay TV while playing the match, we realised 35 to 40 people were watching us play!
When the map started, we got defeated at mid, and got pushed back to the last point.. After some time, they killed us and won the round. We told each other: "Alright guys, 6-1 now. Let's do it." And so, we did it. We went very aggressive and middle, and showed them we were made of top quality. We all did extremely nice moments. From scout killing sprees and air-heals, to amazing double team airshots and single airshots by our demo and soldiers. It wasn't an easy match though, it took us much effort to win the map.
Well - 5-0
After an amazing Badlands, we showed them who was boss of the division on Well. This was our final map of the season, and we sure did enjoy it. It put us many effort to defeat them though, because we quite HATE Well. But we enjoyed it nonetheless because it was a fun challenging game, and we all had our moments.
Virtual Troopers fought well, but not as well as we did, as we showed that we were the best team of our division. Playing an amazing match, and having so many spectators praising on us, sure brought us into a happy mood at the end of the day.

It feels good. Knowing what we achieved in our Season. It's just one Season, but we learned a lot, and in my opinion (Greg), it was the best clan-experience I've had. We're not just a buggy team anymore with random players of DA and some other players, but we're now a stable 6v6 team, winning our division in ETF2L, and ending 2nd (Actually first) in Wireplay. I think we've got a reputation to hold on to now.
Conclusion: Internecine does a n1season with n1games.

So were pretty happy with the fact we've won our division in ETF2L(expect a season write-up by Gregory shortly). We decided we'd actually try to get active and play to improve rather than reside in the quagmire of inactivity like we had been doing lately. Tuesday night went mediocre as we played our old medic Flush's new home Blame in an etf2l ladder game. Unfortauntely Zappah couldn't play as he had real life commitments so I had to medic.. and I completely fucked it up. Especially on badlands. Final result was a draw with 1 map each, them winning badlands 2-3 and us white washing Gravelpit.. The reason we were so dominant on Gravelpit was down to the fact everyone raised their game to accommodate for an angry shit Yorkshireman as a medic. Well played I guess? Although we were bitterly disappointed as we feel we could of won.
Anyway, back to us regaining some sort of activity...
Wednesday didn't go as well. We waited all night for bury to show but he just didn't e-materialize. We weren't pissed off or anything because if we really wanted we could of phoned/text him.. Alex was a massive minge about it all though. We really hate that fucker at the moment.
It has been brought to my attention the reason behind Oliver's absence from mumble this evening;
----------
Oliver Grant
Pc exploded at 9 so i had to go home to get laptop which doesnt have the necessary shit 8(
Samuel Grant
which bit of pc exploded?
Oliver Grant
not literally this time, think i got a virus through java on facebook somehow and it started running retardedly slow, then i managed to delete system32 config like a pro so its dead / needs XP CD
----------
Make of that what you will, but I think the guy should not be left alone with electrical appliances.
Conclusion: n1 explosion

Because we have so many stalkers, we'd like to keep you updated about what's going on.

Spary and Trax did a pretty double airshot in our last ETF2L game of the season against Virtual Troopers. Because Spary and Trax want to get a stroke on their balls, we might as well post it on here.

Conclusion: Spary & Trax do a n1shot in a n1game.

insAne Team

Zappah and Bury recently got banned in a PCW by insAne team. We were waiting for players, and Zappah headshotted someone with a bow, afterwards saying: I have aimbot, spec me.
Surprisingly (or not), the Frenchmen took the joke quite seriously, and rage-banned Zappah, and Bury, for no reason at all. Bury wasn't even involved in this. They then told us to get some new members.
Conclusion: insAne team should be pissed and shit on from a great height. Twice.

Wireplay 2nd Place Division 1 - Season 4

We did all we could to get the first place of the second highest division in Wireplay. But yet, we didn't get it. For a very, retarded, and silly reason.
There's a simple reason behind this: We had an ESL game scheduled one hour before our WPTF2L game with cc2/breeze. However.. [BMP] the team we were playing in ESL were 20minutes late and we decided it was np because why claim a default for the sake of a few mins? and besides, we would like to finish the season with as few of defaults as possible. Fade notified Kimsku on IRC roughly 45 minutes before we were due to play informing him we would be 15minutes late. He replied saying this would be np. We were actually 19minutes late. We joined our server to find breeze had left. Fade again messages Kimsku asking where they were and just gets the reply ":(". A few minutes later Fade is messaged by management staff from the crackclan! organisation. He goes on to give the ultimatum because we were late and his "guys" needed to go to sleep we had the option of playing now and defaulting 1 map to them or rearranging on the game to be played in 3days time. Fuck giving them a default on one map.. we explained the situation well before and they were cool about it.. the only logical reasons for them pulling this trick out of the bag on us was because;
1) they actually wanted the default
2) they got pissed off with us in the 4mins longer it took than Fade said it would
3) Kimsku didn't tell anyone in his team we had messaged him and he was okay with the situation
Either way, it left a pretty bitter tastes in our mouths. We already knew at this point they'd be getting the default win for both maps, because our demoman and medic were both going on holiday the following day. I guess we hoped they'd be decent enough to rearrange it.
So we got a default loss against us and 1.50 Penalty Points. We had 3 games still to play left in the season. We noticed breezed had fixtured their season to end quite early aswell. So when we got in touch with them asking if they'd like to try and sort something out for our fixture they said "we can't were inactive sorry" we would of taken it on the chin if they hadn't still been super active in ETF2L. Sorry, inactive? We were playing 1 map every 7/8 days.. That's inactive And so giving us in the end a point result of 27.42, which is 1.29 points too few then breeze's points, where they claimed the 1st place with... If it weren't for the penalty points, default loss and -6 rounds we might of finished 1st depending on the result versus them, we would have had more

It's pretty sad. However, we're still happy we claimed the 2nd prize in the division, because it sure was a challenge to all of us.
That's 1 achievement for Internecine!
Conclusion: Internecine does a n1 2nd place, and can't wait to meet breeze in official play

As we like to think of ourselves as a respectable div 3 team (ETF2L thinks otherwise apparently despite constant protests) we like to keep score of teams we know well and can compare improvements with in regular pcws; other names are there for other various reasons.
9 Team.

I personally remember playing with SooN a good while ago (year or so) in a casual pickup and thought he was extremely clued up and was hot with his game sense, at the time they were a low division team and was pretty suprised to find that out, a year on and they are achieving results they should be, currently placed first in their div 3 division and a recent pcw we can safely say they are a strong upcoming team people should be aware of; with great push synchronisation and practised tactics. Having recently acquired Manov, it has just secured their future as a strong team.
Conclusion: Awesome team.
HolyShit

When we first started out we played against these guys twice and I can comfortably say we are equally balanced, and still to-date, having never played Yukon before, we saw each other on the map and had an epic battle resulting in a 3-3 tie. When they are on form they are an extremely respectable side and friendly guys. However they can be easily influenced into nit-picking when a map doesn't go their way and a MID+ unclanned for 2/3 months merc complains of 'lag'.
Conclusion: Good team.
enixe

Similar story as HolyShit, we met them when we were relatively new and was taken at how equally balanced we were. On form they are a respectably strong team.
Conclusion: Great team.
breeze (formaly cc2)

Unfortunately these guys are a team we can't speak wonders about, and a team that will be covered again in our league roundup post. Our scheduled match vs them in Wireplay was ended in bitter taste in collaboration between the organisation, players, and the admin issueing a default loss to us for no particular reason.
On said match day, we told them we would be a bit late as we were forced into an ESL match, them being finnish said it would be too late in the night to play any later (Sure kid), pleading no knowledge of being told about being late for the match, they seeked a desperate default which was granted (The rules say matches early on the league should be replayed, only under serious circumstances would defaults be awarded, or is the attitude that is encouraged; but I get this flew passed a certain head).
We asked to replay the match anyway so the default could perhaps be reverted, and we were passed onto Crack Clan management for some reason explaining why they wouldn't do such a thing, no sportsmanship here guys. Shame your shocking organisation lost its sugar daddy.
If they would like to challenge us to prove their worthiness as the #1 team in the division, they can do so, but they shouldn't hold their breath, and we will try to publicise the match as much as possible. If they won't volunteer I'm sure trickery will guarantee a game.
Conclusion: Bitter taste.
cubeSports.

A hilarious team because of their foreign to english insults, also think we are somehow related to FB2. Crazy guys.
cubeSports.ELLIOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT : i will may put it on your mother vagginas
Conclusion: Good laugh.

Departure of a member that has been in the team since we nearly first began is always going to be edgy business, our medic --Flush-- left us after like 120 days or some shit for his own reasons.
His favourite past times include: Going on holiday every 2 weeks, strange humour and being a frikkin 16 year old.
We feel he owes us quite a lot of respect seeing as at the time he dabbled with us and eventually joined; he hadn't had much clan experience and we took him on as he seemed like a top lad at the time; we basically took him under our wings as an unknown team that insults as many people as they can throughout their entirety. You can now see him playing under the Blame banner, or infinity as they were previously.
Conclusion: Good luck to Blame and to --Flush--, all the best. xx
